Kilcowera Station Stay
Hi has anyone stayed at this place recently? Is it good? Would be a nice alternative place to stay rather than in
Roma for those so inclined I think. Cheers Toni

There are half a dozen Sept entries in WikiCamps, mostly good. I am a little perturbed about the one mentioning "Power leads running everywhere." I too would be keeping
well clear of that situation.
Is "Ups N Down Caravan Park & Farm" Stay one of your group?

G'day Toni, if you haven't already got it I would suggest the Wikicamps app. We stayed at
Ups N Downs and found it to be another good no frills stay although it does have all the modcons, ie power, water, ablutions
camp kitchen,
camp fire.

We stayed at
Ups n Downs, Aug 2016 for 5 nights, all good would/will go back, owner is a former jumps jockey, hence the name. It's pretty close, like about 5 or 6 k, straight into
Roma.
Stayed at Kilcowera this July, all good there as
well, bit far to
Thargomindah or
Hungerford for a quick coffee but it was fun, with dinner in the shearers quarters that we enjoyed.

A very old basic brick amenities block, one shower and one
toilet in the men's, 2
toilets and one shower in the ladies. A singel light bulb in each. Plumbing fairly rudimentary, but it works. Probably only one shower at a time.
Yes - there are leads running everywhere - from the
toilet block and on the ground but there is a maximum number of powered sites, so you are not likely to have your lead run over by srtay cars etc.. Cost was about $20 per night. Nice friendly people who run the place. We have stayed in a park right in
Roma before and it was noisy because of an all night cafe opposite and the railway behind it. The other park in town is the Oil & Gas
well one near the visitor's centre, and it looked Ok, although it would be a lot dearer.

Hi,
Roma clay target club have a very nice quiet van park on their property just out of town, shade on every site and clean amenities at reasonable cost.
