I was browsing thru the Yellow Pages shockies section and noticed an ad for a mob who claim to be "specialist rebuilders of all types of gas and oil shocks..". In fact there's a couple of ads for rebuilders of all types of shockies. I was under the impression that only certain brands could be re-built and that the rest were a disposable item. Has anyone used such a service for common shockies? Any useful information welcome.

Never heard of them myself, but take into consideration the fact that you have to remove your shocks first, take them to the place and wait until they are overhauled, then go back and pick them up only to have to fit them again. IS it really worth the few dollars saved ?
Even if you left your car there for them to do the job, how good would the job be?
Personally id pay the extra and get myself brand NEW ones for peace of mind.
Just my view guys !
