Planning a trip across the Great Top Road from Normanton thru Burketown, Hells Gate onto Borrolloola late July - can anyone help as to what road conditions will be like -have been advised it is bad - is that true and if so, how bad? Appreciate any advice for two old greying outdoor nomads!
Thanks Jinki

Jinki, We did that last & the road was'nt all that bad just a few washouts & the creeks were low. Make sure you go to Tully Inlet at Woolagorang Station if you have time as we spent 2 days there & could off stayed a week it was so nice but time did'nt allow. Road conditions will depend on whether the grader has been thru & how bad the wet was. Check the road condition reports on this site under trip planning or ring Hells Gate roadhouse or Woolagorang before you go for current conditions at the time.
