Hi,

I am just wondering if you can get awning brackets for the rails that run along the 200 series landcruiser's or will i need a rack/roof tray to attach the awning?

Cheers

Every awning I have bought comes with the brackets. If not then it's easy to modify a suitable right angle bracket from Bunnings. The flat head bolts and nuts that slide along the channel of the roof rack can be purchased at places like Super Cheap in the roof rack department.

Flat platform might be the go, fixed to roof rails.
L brackets should be fittable to most platforms, perhaps with a little modding.

Platform would be less wind resistance, less noise than a full roof rack, but still handy to use it ever more storage is needed (early in a trip foe example).

I have a LC200 with roof rails. For versatility, I have roof bars that attach to the roof rails. I also have a alloy roof basket that I can put on or take off when not needed. My awning attaches via L brackets and the flat square headed bolts that slide into the track on top of the roof bar to secure it - if that makes sense. I doubt very much if there is a fitting to attach an awning directly to the roof rails.

Cheers

I don’t think they make those type of brackets for any vehicle as the roof rails aren’t designed to have that side load on them without the support of the other rail (via bars or basket).
I have seen people attach them just by bending the supplied bracket and bolting them through the roof rails, not sure of the longevity though.
