Good morning all
We have a Powertech Fridge Freezer that has decided that no matter temperature you set it will only freeze.
I have contacted the retail outlet that I purchased it from Road Tech Marine and asked for help.
Take it to a RTM store was the first answer, we are 250kms away from nearest.
Then I asked can you give me contact details for the distributor? OOPS a big no no. Dig up the original receipt was the next answer. It is in storage so no help there either. Find the original Debit Card charge on my bank statement.
Has anybody else had this problem? Does anyone know who the distributor is?
Many thanks
Stay safe & stay
well

Hi Peter,
I assume that you are seeking support under warranty. In which case you will need to deal with the business from whom you purchased the fridge, Road Tech Marine.
The "distributor" is almost certainly in China and has no responsibility directly to yourself.
This brand of fridge is sold by a number of retail dealers but none, other than Road Tech Marine, would be in a position to accept your warranty claim.
If it is no longer in warranty you would probably do better to obtain service from a conveniently located refrigeration service business that deals with
portable fridges.

Peter,
Those fridges are a Waeco clone, and RTM, Jaycar and Electus are all the same business. I have a 30L Ironman fridge, and brand name aside, it is identical to your fridge.
Perhaps a Waeco agent can help you?
Does your fridge continue to freeze on "Eco", as
mine wouldn't run as a freezer on this setting?
You could always change your diet to Chiko Rolls & Dim Sims, with iceblocks for desert, while drinking hot beer, until the fridge is repaired? LOL
Hope you have some success,
Bob

Hi Peter M,
Had the same symptoms with my car fridge some years ago, froze everything.
Turned out that I had unknowingly swapped from degrees C to degrees F, so every setting below 32 degrees froze water.
Just a thought!
The same fridge 5 years later did it again, but this time it was a thermistor circuit failure.
Cheers
Pedro

Thank you all for your help
I will organize a search of all that useful stuff you save when you are on the rad full time and try to find the original receipt.
Plus after Christmas I will take the fridge down to a Waco service place in
Cairns. That is if "she who will be obeyed" lets me drive there.
Once again thank you
