After my post the other day we have got the 1990 LC shorty. The 3.5 engine doesnt appear to need a lot of work to fix it, however the other 4.2 diesel engine on questioning the guy that has it for sale turns out to be an 1983 2F diesel unit. I suspect that this wont fit up to the gearbox of the shorty, although I dont know much about this earlier motor. Anyone out there know?

If its a 1983 diesel it would be a 2H, the 2F is the petrol motor.

Hi Jaycee
The 3.5 should be a3B engine. It can be bade to fit, but not easily. Bellhousing, clutch, flywheel, mounts, intake, exhaust, radiator, and the list goes on.

Thanks guys. That tells me what I need to know. The 3.5 is going to get the fixup and get chucked back in.
