Hi All
We have been travelling on the Puntawarra Track in 2003 from
Jigalong and in 2005 more directly from
Cundlebar to
Durba Hills. We had a look at Satellite BING Maps and found that both tracks from
Jigalong to
Puntawarri are still
well visible. However, the track from
Puntawarri to
Durba Hills is faint and in many locations difficult to trace. Has anybody been out there recently and could comment on the tracks.
Thank you for your help
Andreas

Hi Andreas.
I did a trip in 2007 from
Jigalong to Durba Springs via the
Puntawarri track and the CSR if that is on any use. I have the OziExplorer track plot file available.
Cheers
David

Hi Andy,
We did the
Puntawarri track in 2011 and it was
well-defined and easy to follow. I believe the track is
well-used by the locals - we met a group from
Jigalong on our trip.
It is a fantastic track and
well worth travelling. Have traveled it twice - our last trip was rushed however as we were heading to
Newman for repairs (broken chassis on BT50).
Cheers, Geoff

Hi Geoff and David
Thanks for your answers. I will enquire with the locals at
Jigalong and ask for a permit.
Cheers Andreas
