Hi just purchased a used jayco swan I had both tanks emptied to save weight whilst towing back from interstate.the jayco has twin tanks and a meter shows when the tanks are empty yet the second tank is reading full on the panel why would this happen .any ideas as to what’s going on?

Crud on the level terminals in the tank.
Pull it out and clean it.

In the side of the tank somewhere with about 5 wires going to it.

Have you tried just switching the water pump ON via the switch on the panel, as the gauges only read water level when the pump is live (not pumping), and retain whatever level was recorded the last time pump wiring was active.

I agree with Athol,
I have also popped the panel off and disconnected the wires in the back to reset if turning on the water pump doesn't do the job.
