I went to the one near / next to the bakery supermarket.
This was a good couple years ago.
Please in peak season when the fishing is hot ring in advance as i heard the place gets smashed and very hard to get a site and even harder to get a powered one.
Facilities were very basic back then but reasonable.
Not alot of shade !!!

The pub overlooking the water is a absolute must do !!!!!
As is the blueberry custard tarts , soo good i had 2 and made sure i went every day for the 2-3 day visit.
AVOID the local mechanic shop as they overcharged the other guy in our group.
By saying the vehicle needed this work ( they didnt know the guy was a qualified mechanic)
Sadly when they have your car on the hoist, youve got to pay the bill !
Karumba is a magic place. !

Last year we were in the one at the boat ramp, Karumba Point Sunset CP, great park but is really busy with fisho's so not always easy to get into. There is another one Karumba Point but looked pretty cramped.
Do the sunset cruise out to a sand island, seafood feast and free flowing drinks.

The fish & chip shop down the road is fanbloodytastic too, we got 2 pieces of barra each and a heap of chips but the servings were so generous we couldn't eat it all

The one right in town. Short walk to all the shops and pub. Only ever half booked out and shade everywhere. Closest to the town swimming pool also.

What season are we talking "half booked" etc?
(I'm assuming it's not the wet season!!) :)
I always thought Karumba was OMG stuff when it came to getting in and that you had to book aaaages in advance but I'm just starting to learn that it's not as bad as that...
Please tell me more.

If you are launching a boat, the ramps at the point can get very busy with stroppy Victorians, plus it can be very wind affected. The ramp in town is much more protected. A much shorter tow from the caravan park in town.
