Installation easy as:

find OB2 port location varies but under dash near right knee area be good starting point.

find a safe route for cable between OB2 connector and head unit to run cable then connect up with no power unti will then detect the engine parameters when you turn on igniton.

user installation guide is fairly comprehensive - apart from possibly the tank to empty set up procedure - this require bit of playign around with, and to keep it in sync you must remember to reset the trip zero (refill) each time

The extra codes are fairly simple to program in so long as your confident -admit I had to think back to my days of Hex coding to get it right 0 to F = 0 to 16 in hexadecimal

0 to F = 0 to 15 actually.

0123456789ABCDEF
16 characters by my counting

I found set up to be very easy.
Scangauge provide a quick start up and a more comprehensive guide.
Both are easy to follow.

No confusion really.
The original post was correct.
It is a hexadecimal system with 16 characters.
Did not think it was worth arguing with anyone who cannot count to 16.

You're right Macca, there ARE sixteen. But 1 to 16 would be 16 (just like 1 to 10) and when you start with zero (as in 0 to 9, there are ten) then 0-F is 0-15.

After 0-9 it goes A=10, B=11,C=12,D=13,E=14, and F=15.

Hewy, I can count to 16 and "0 to F = 0 to 16 in hexadecimal" is wrong. If you knew hex coding you'd know that F is 15.

I don't know how hard setup is for the Ford Ranger.
Some years ago I had a Terracan, and it was a PITA to set up - needed to select ISO mode and 'Force' it. Even then it wouldn't always connect.

If you have problems setting it up using the guide, I suggest asking your question on a Ford Ranger Forum - there will be plenty of replies. Alternatively, send off a query to Scangauge Australia.

good luck,
glids
