Further to my thread:136444, here are the results using the fridge on 12 volt. As I wasn't travelling, I connected a lead to the Anderson plug from a 12 volt battery using a Ctek 15 amp battery charger. the volts at the back of the fridge were 12.48.

Every thing the same as last 2 tests &outside temp was 29deg.
Startup...fridge.....23.8....freezer...22,2
after 1 hr .............16.2............... ..-7.5
next 1 hr...............11.6.................-13.3
next 1 hr.................5.6.................-13.5
Temp difference. 18.2..................35.7.

The 12 volt surprised me as to how well it performed.
On a follow up on the gas results, I checked the regulator & the gas pressure at the fridge was 12.6 in water column & not at the regulation 11in. I reset the regulator& gas has quietened down somewhat. I expect a better performance on gas now.

They are good 12v numbers.
Recently my 12v performance has declined and along with that an electrical burning smell has developed.
A visual inspection of connectors revealed nothing and a multimeter check had the correct numbers.
A girl look revealed that the out of view backside of the in line fuse was charred and slowly burning away.
It appears when the fuse was inserted one leg of the fuse entered the connector correctly and the other fuse pin slipped in beside the connector inside the the inline fuse. This made a hot joint that shows 12v but not amps.
All repaired now and a short trip in two weeks time should see the fault cured

Did it get any lower and stabilise as those temps are not very good for storing cold food items. Also a test when travelling would give a true result on it's performance especially in hilly country or in hot weather which is where compressor fridges greatly out perform 3 way fridges for keeping food at a consistent safe temperature.

Yes Batt, on a earlier test it got down to 1deg but I didn't include that in this comparison test as all the other
tests were done over the same time limit.
