We are heading to Lawn Hill in August via Camooweal. Can anybody give me an idea of the road condition, would it be ok for 2wd car and trailer or are there difficult creek crossings. We have two Landcruisers one Patrol and a Falcon, could we get through with the Falcon.

Hi Mark, I'll be coming through that way in late July. I'll be able to let you know on the first Monday in August - if you haven't found out by then.

Hi Mark, We're heading across the Plenty Highway to Alice Springs this week. From there we're going up to Litchfield NP - Darwin - Mataranka - then across to Boroolooa - Hells Gate - arriving at Lawn Hill in late July then down to Camooweal - Longreach - Rockhampton and home. (Back to work first week in August - yeah!!!)

Hi Mark, We've had a change of plans and won't be going to Lawn Hill at all now. Good luck. Pat.

Mark - its is dry up there this time of year. Water will not be the problem. The route is often traversed by 2WD with caravans but there is often heavy bulldust that is the major obstacle. I haven't any current specific info on that exact route to offer you but you need to book at Lawn Hill just for a camping site you know, so why not ask them when you ring.
