I have a list of
places to visit but they are recorded in degrees minutes seconds. Does anyone know how you can input them into
ExplorOz Traveller please.

David
You will need to convert them to the appropriate format.
I can give you the mathematical equations you will need to do this, however you might find this
Coordinate converter easier to use LOL. (Just click on the underlined words and it takes you to an ExplorOz page)

Can't you put the degrees into a GPS and then change the GPS format to that required.
Dave.

David
The method to convert DD MM SS formats to DD.DDDD formats is straightforward. So if you prefer to do it yourself in excel or via calculator use the following method (with example -32 15’ 28”)
A. Divide SS by 60 ( 0.4667)
B. Add the result of A to MM (15.4667)
C. Divide the result of B by 60 (0.2578)
D. Add the result to DD (-32.2578)

In your example you would subtract the result of C from DD.
Its easy to use one of many online calculators, some allow waypoints or csv files to be loaded too.

Tony
You are correct. Should be a minus not a plus. Was thinking of a South delimiter not minus.

Hi David
I thought may be there is a setting in "Traveller" whereby you can select whether you want to input in degrees, minutes, seconds or decimals of minutes. There is in most other navigation packages.

You can change the format for the map but for some reason the input box format remains at decimal degrees. Contact with David/Michelle may be the go?
