anyone know anything about neurum creek or archer camping areas?
they are in mt mee
state forest...
considering going up this weekend with a few vehicles but we don't really wan't to
camp there if it's the post and rail fence setup keeping your vehicle away from the
campsite.... anyone know if you can get your vehicle into the campsites?
any ideas on how packed it will be given that it's a long weekend?
i'll even take suggestions on somewhere else in the area?
cheers,
KG

you can just about guarantee a full house at Neurum.
It's a private Park outside Woodford.
You
camp where you park so no posts in the way.
There is not really any 4WD'ing.
You usually have to book for long weekends.
Mt Archer is in the Mt Mee S.F. and is not all that large but is quite nice.
I think most
places will be very busy this weekend.

Went and had a look at Mt Mee about 6 months ago. Pretty sure most of it is Tent camping ie post and rail. We were looking fto use for CT but not all that impressed.
Suggest you give them a phone call and ask
An alternative is Peach Trees Forest Park up at Jimna. Sealed all but the last 5 k of graded road. No power, Septic
toilets, Heaps of water on tap and firewood and coin in the slot hot showers. Honour system pay by credit card. There is a phone, or was, at the amenities. Mobile reception at the top of the
hill near the
fire tower, but none at the
camp site.
Only 1 hr 45 from Carindale via Caboolture and Kilcoy. No shops, no fuel up there.
Very nice and heaps of room, but be early, like preferably Friday.
Hope you have a good weekend

Neurum Creek Bush Retreat is a private
camp ground (as mentioned). No 4wd'ing but a great spot for a relaxing
camp.
Very popular and you would no doubt need to book for a long weekend. You can take CT's, Vans or anything else.
If your interested ring Judy or Narelle on 07 5496 3692 to see if there are any spots left. One great thing about this place is that they limit the number of campers and the sites are quite large compared to the usual postage stamp site that you get.
