Heading to
Cairns from
Longreach and was looking at going North from
Hughenden via the Lynd
Junction to
Cairns. Have a Prado and towing an Outback Starcraft 17.58. Anyone driven this road recently and could up day me on the road conditions? I keep hearing they continue to seal more and more of that stretch.
Thanks in advance.

You will have no trouble.
As you say the bitumen is being done by stages at the moment.
The gravel sections are quite OK, just take the usual care around grids and creek causeways.
I travel that road regularly, the last time being about a month ago.

Depends also on if your planing to go via
Muttaburra ....
Longreach to
Muttaburra via the Cramsie has only 25 km of dirt - in 2 sections left to be sealed [other way via 'Crossmore' is 125km dirt , then 200 km from Mutta to
Hughenden is dirt but currently pretty good as had no rain since the last grading ....
