Best to call the service station or the pub.

There's an excellent, but small, caravan park there and another at Copely. This area has suffered greatly with the closure of the mine so it's a good thing to use the local services and facilities and support them. Supermarket is normally well stocked as well

I camped at Aroona Dam.. Sept 2017.. it was very quiet. No one told us off..Sometimes its easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission.. plus my setup is pretty stealthy.. sleeping inside the vehicle. It was a pleasant evening.

Yes, sadly Aroona Dam is still a no camping area. There are signs on the way in & also at the picnic area stating so.

It's a bit odd really, considering that the state Govt is trying to open Leigh Creek up to tourism.

It appears that, even with signs, people still camp there.

Maybe one or two rule breakers, but that's what it took to get camping there stopped in the 1st place.

Pretty much like everywhere that we get locked out of, the rule breakers ruin it for everyone.

Fancy a drive from Andamooka to Farina across the top of the lake?

I do. But the rule breakers kinda stuffed that up too!

Go the rule breakers...………… not!

KevinE. That was the clowns that after being told not to drive the track in the wet went ahead and ripped up the track up anyway. Then posted pics on a 4x4 forum and bragged about it. There was even video for a while but I think they pulled it after getting a lot of grief over what they did.

The Bore Track was closed for similar reasons.
