The way that looked to me was the price is similar to the first box of cherries for the Australian season. That box of cherries goes for many time more than the regular prices.

While this is a special case to celebrate the opening of the new fish market , I have to tell you that the value of a tuna is decided by a little old Japanese man who is a National Treasure, who takes a plug from the side of a tuna , sniffs it tastes it and declares what its value should be per kilo.

I remember that Austrade tried to introduce an objective measure about 30 years ago but AFAIR failed to convince the Japanese. What looks like a very valuable fish may not be if the bloke decides that it is too coarse or whatever.


Tsukiji Fish market ( pronounced SKIDGEE) decided the value based on the advice. Oz fishermen do not know what the value will be until it is auctioned based on the advice. The new fish market will be the same.

So not a pot of gold unless you hit the jackpot of desirable traits
