Kingoonya Hotel had reopened when I visited in January 2018. Note that the proprietors were not very tolerant of dogs, quite strange given the isolation of the locality. Fuel is also available from the caravan park using a self-serve credit card operated pump.

The hotel had just reopened when we visited in Mar 2013. I see that the description on the place page can be edited so I might do that.

If you are travelling south from kingoonya take the road through the gawler ranges and not back to glendambo, great road but watch for the wildlife, plenty of roos and emus.

Agreed, it's a lovely drive. Take the short, signposted detour to Lake Gairdner National Park to camp near the salt lake or just go for a stroll on the surface.

At the junction south of Lake Gairdner take a left to visit Mt Ive Station, or right to go through the Gawler Ranges National Park.
