Just reading a face book post from All 4 Adventure who have posted that Mary Crawley passed away last week.
All 4 Adventure Facebook Post
Pub was lost in Dec 2017 and now the former owner.
What a wonderful lady she was. A true Australian Character. I’m glad My family and I had the opportunity to have a beer and yarn with her.
Cheers

Spent an afternoon there on our way back from the Big Red Bash in 2015.
She had all her marbles that's for sure and she spent a couple of hours yarning with me and my wife.!
Told me she was married into the family that built Monte Cristo, the "haunted" house in
Junee NSW.
The Pub burning down must have broken her heart.
RIP

Certainly nothing wrong with her memory when we went through either.
It’s a shame we don’t record some of the oral history these “old Bushies” share. It would make some great listening on the road.
Cheers

NB I use the term”old Bushies” with nothing but admiration and reverence towards our outback legends.

I haven’t seen anything on the Tele or newspapers over here in the West.
A shame, I’m sure a lot of people would have stopped of at the Tattersalls over the years and would like to know.
Cheers

We enjoyed our stop there with her and her family,
Easter 2017. She signed our Outback Pubs book (great reason to go to some of the interesting
places). Sad to read of her passing.

We met Mary Crawley in July 2015 on one of our outback wanders. It was mid morning and about 'coffee o'clock" when we arrived too early for a beer. I asked Mary if she sold coffee, yes of course, then two flat whites please, she suggested we sit on the veranda. She arrived shortly later with a silver tray, coffee cups, milk, coffee and a plate of freshly cooked corn flake cookies, all for the price of the instant coffee. We talked about the pub and her other love horse racing. We both knew of one particular horse for which I had a promotional peaked cap which I gave to her. She then invited us into the parlour to listen to a horse race on which she had been given a hot tip as a certainty. Needless to say it ran fourth in a field of four.. A lovely lady and the world is worse off with her passing. R.I.P. Mary.

What a lovely reminiscence.
When we first called through, she seemed to take a liking to our boys (aged 6 and 10 at the time). The youngest asked her something and they both disappeared with her for nearly 3/4 an hour.
When they came back, she gave a sort of a wink and just said 'its good to have some grown up time".
I agree - The brightness of the world somehow just got a little bit duller.
Cheers

Knew Mary and Bay Crawley back in the 90's when I was a jackaroo on a station out the back of Barringun. Nice people. R.I.P. Mary
