Hi All
Has anyone heard when the 5 speed auto will be available in the Prado T/D 3.0Ltr
I believe this has been released O/seas for some years??

I have Truckster As Jeff said we are just dumb and get all the old stuff toyota seem to know nothing and what would it do to the current auto sales?

Yeah, but that's pretty typical, the 1kz-te motor had been around for over 5 years overseas before they brought it here. They were still selling us suckers the old crap for years, spose they have to use up the excess stock and make the moulds and machinery pay for itself before they let the dumb ozis have the new stuff.

That's so true - that is why I bought my Surf - it is a 97 model and has the intercooled turbo diesel which is exactly the same as the latest Prado - we had to wait until atleast 2000 for the same motor. Just because we have not got a huge
population (large enough for me thanks) they think we can put up with the dreggs. I am sure Japan and America have all the good stuff.

Prado is currently a top selling 4WD. While it is still convenient to manufacture it, I suspect we will still get it. Unless a strong competitor arrives.
