Impressed a few years ago with the carpets of
wildflowers in Far Western NSW around the
Darling River I wonder if there may be a showing worth travelling to see after the flood waters pass through the channel country, from
Windorah down?

Not enough water in Coopers Ck. It has only come up a metre at
Nappa Merrie and locally there has been almost no rain. Best to go to the Diamantina. The
Diamantina Lakes got to within 3 cm of the biggest flood since records began in Nov 1966 so the floodplains got
well and truly covered. Click on link to see pix of the dry floodplain. The waters have now passed
Birdsville to give 8.2 m in town and major flooding
At campsite near town bridge over Diamantina
. Last years flood left a carpet of flowers by the time of the races in first week of Sept. ....... W
