Hi there
We have a number of dents in our van from a hail storm....any ideas of how to get rid of them?

What sort of construction is the van? Bonded composite or aluminium clad?
Either way, about the only way is to replace the damaged panels.

If the dents are not too deep, and don't have sharp creases, the "paintless dent removal" method may be able to fix the majority of them - but it still isn't a cheap solution.
Gino's Paintless Dent Removal
The only definitive solution is replacement of the damaged aluminium sheets.
Cheers, Ron.

Panel beating & shrinking aluminium is almost a forgotten art. Whereas you can heat steel to a ‘cherry red’ colour before shrinking it, aluminium shows no colour before it just melts, repairers used to use sawdust as a heat indicator, when it started to smoke was time to start beating it.
I think it would be cost prohibitive to repair.

Maybe sand off, spot prime, fill, sand again, prime again and spot paint.
But if there are a heap of these dents replacement panels might be quicker.
