Yuraygir National Park best spots

Hi everyone,
Looking to go to Yuraygir National Park in september -
There are a lot of camp spots there -
which is your favourite?
we are looking to be close to the water.
There's
Shelley Beach Camping Area, Lake Arragan and Red Cliff, Sandon River Camping Area
Illaroo Camping Area, Boorkoom Camping Area, and Station Creek Camping Area

4wd or 2wd ?

Illaroo is nice. Right on the water , just out of Minnie Waters (supplies). Has access to the beach to drive up to Sandon River.

In fact , might be going there myself in a couple of weeks.

My favourite in that area though is Pebbly Beach. It is totally 4wd country though. Drive along the beach for a couple of K's , across a small creek , and into the camping area , right on the beach . . . top spot.

Hi Flappan - we'll be in a 2wd (campervan) wish it was 4wd.
Looks like Illaroo for us.
Would be great if you would keep us posted if you find any other good spots on the way.

Been a little while since I have been up further (was at Pebbly at Xmas).

Sandon River wasn't too bad , but from memory , more of a Cvan park , then a camp ground (assuming I have the right one).

Station Creek is nice , but IMO Illaroo is better.
