G'day all,

Driving home the other night the immobiliser light in my 02 TD3i patrol lit up for no apparent reason. Going out later that night, light still on and engine would not start(luckily in the driveway and not out the back of beyond) After getting towed to nearest Nissan service centre (and a few puzzled looks and trying of keys) it was concluded the problem was caused by either a loose wire (where?) or "the sytem just had to be rebooted". Just wondering if anyone else has heard of similar problem (hopefully not in the middle of nowhere), or does anyone know if you can shut off the immobiliser so problem can be avoided in the future?

P.S. Love the site, just need more time to read!

If its a 3.0L then you can't buypass it as it locks down the ECU.

I've heard of a similar problem with a guy who left his keys sitting on his sub box and the magnet wiped the keys ID chip. He had to go to Nissan and get them to reprogram his key - cost something like $50.
