Towing with GU 4.2 aftermarket turbo

Planning trip around Aus with 20" Off Road Van.Any problems experienced towing with '99 GU 4.2 aftermarket turbo vehicle? We have heard about the radiator & the Air Con & have investigated that problem. Your input would be appreciated.

The Radiator can be an issue, your cooling system has to be spot on..

Depending on the car, history, etc, runnin air cond in any car in 50degrees is going to warm up the donk..

what weight is the trailer, adn car etc all up?

I've been through all this last year. I ended up shelling out $300+ for a new factory cooling fan clutch. Even now, I still notice the temp gauge goes up when she is pushed hard.
Last monday coming back from the Riverland country, we were running into a heavy head wind. It was bloody cold and raining on & off too. The temp gauge was climbing up past half way as I struggled in 4th gear at about 90kl/h foot flat to the floor.
Mine is a 2000 factory turbo model.
The next step, which I think I'm gunna have to take, is to get a larger aftermarket radiator. check out : www.pwr.com.au this is where I'll be getting mine from.

I have 89GQ ST aftermarket turbo from near new 250k orig rad fitted extra oil cooler hi clones?? removed spotligt and big nissan badge, tow 19ft full size van north every year90-95klms 5th gear air on climbes a bit over 1/2 way in hot weather never had any probs bar fuel pump O Ring(New spec fuel) Car has had hard life in mining situation hope my new 4.2tdi goes as well . Serviced every 5000ks
