Have they released it here? Last I checked
the spot network couldn’t duplex in Oz due to coverage issues and they weren’t going to progress past the original version. Garmin in reach can duplex here.

I use the Garmin Inreach Mini. Very reliable and easy to use. I communicate daily with
home and they can follow my tracks online. The unit seamlessly connects to your mobile phone which I use for messaging. Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with Garmin. I'm simply a happy customer.

Garmin InReach Explorer a far better unit as it uses the Iridium satellite network. Also has far more reasonable plans and allows texting through the Garmin app on your phone. Mini is good also.
