Just listened to a ABC Alice Springs breakfast radio broadcast with Jol Fleming talking about his "wake". I understand he has only a short time left on this earth. Had the good fortune to meet Jol and Lindsay Bookie (RIP) from Batten Hill Station a couple of times, wonderful people, great Australians. We need more of their kind.

Had a fair bit to do with Jol many years ago , top bloke !
I will miss being able to call in on him when travelling through Alice and a chat of old times like finke & off road Adventures
Jol was one of the driving forces behind vehicles being entered into the Finke Desert Race and got the Alice Springs Off Road Racing Club going many years ago as well the hay River track permits & so on !
always had a few good tips for us aswel & all from his wheelchair ...
Living awake I can just see him now with a little smile when he came up with that one LOL :)))

nickb "boab" just saw this & couldn't believe my eyes, yes great news, looks like we will have to put up with him for a while longer yet. Hopefully will get to see him later this year maybe.
