We are planning on travelling the Anne Beadell Hway from Laverton to Coober Pedy from 28 Aug to 4 Sept 2020 and are looking for any interested partners who want to do the trip. We are seniors and reasonably experienced outback travellers with off-road camper trailer but company in this remote area would be good. We haven't sought permits yet. We could be flexible in timing, up to 7 days earlier (if that suited someone better).
Look frwrd to hearing from anyone.

Hi Peter. Assume you have you checked out all the pix and info re the ABH here on this site. We have covered the eastern end from Coober Pedy to the west side of Tallaringa NP. Shocking corrugations still evoke memories 7+ years later. Also went west from Neale Junction toLaverton in 2018 and the track is quite pleasant cf the Pedy end. Go into place 65631 for more pix of this end. The wildflowers should be beautiful. Enjoy..... W

Last year when I was driving down the Sandy Blight Road, I encountered a couple towing an off road 'van. They told me their original plan had been to drive the AB east to west. But they found the corrugations so bad, they soon gave up and turned back!

Good afternoon Peter and Ann.

You should also list this in the members gatherings page. That way it will remain visible to others who may be planning a trip down the ABH. The forum posts scroll through and are soon lost down the pages.

Cheers

Try under Community, then Membership, then look down the list to Trips and gatherings, then further to Create a new trip or gathering.

I think !!

Cheers

Thks, Mike. That was very helpful. Let's hope there are other people out there wanting to do the trip around the same time. All the best, Mate.
