Morning All,
Looking for suggestions of
places to stay along the Barrier Highway between
Peterborough and
Broken Hill (excluding those two).
I am travelling in a vehicle only so looking for hotel, motel,
farm stay style accommodation etc.
Cheers Craig

Yunta pub might be worth a try. (08) 8650 5002
Or Olary pub. (08) 80911 856
Cheers,
Peter

Toilets opposite the Olary pub quite ok, but this time last year the pub looked very much unloved and abandoned.

Strewth you picked an interesting stretch of road to secure accommodation Craig. It'd be like a scene from Wake in Fright!
Yunta Hotel, Olary Hotel and
Cockburn Hotel are your only options. No
farm stays along that section of the Barrier that I am aware of but there are plenty of Outback NSW sites you could
check.
Safe travels.

Thanks for that Mick.
Why is there a better way from
Perth to Coolum other via the
Gibb River Road. ??

No, it's a good piece of road and it will be the greenest it's been for a long time about now, just a lonely stretch of near 300km that people generally stay at either end of, either in the farming belt country around
Peterborough or across at
Broken Hill. Camping another matter all together. I'd turn left at
Yunta and go up to the Walkaringa
Ruins for the night.

Or turn right at
Yunta.
There is a little piece of the Flinders that got "lost" in there.
Cheers,
Peter

I see
Cockburn isn't doing vans over the road at the moment during Covid. Do they do accommodation in the pub? I like that place but you wouldn't want to head there with no other option haha.
For the O.P., you could do P.A. - B.H. in a day no probs. Do not pass the B.P. in
Yunta without having a steak sandwich - thank me later.
We towed a camper from the Flinder's Ranges to B.H. in an easy (ish) day.

Are you on a bicycle ?
I have seen some in strange
places, including the GRR and the BV track
