Hi everyone, filmed last weekend ! Braved the cold but had
Lake Ballard basically to ourselves. There's a blurb on YouTube so I won't repeat all the info here. This is a must see place. In my opinion, doesn't get the recognition it should .Costs nothing to
camp there!

Have camped there many times on the way round to Mt. Ida gold detecting areas.
To us, those stick figures more denigrate the
lake than enhance it.
Why try to improve on what nature created near perfectly.
We humans have a habit of doing this

Mike you must know of some great
places to explore out that way ? You may have noticed in my video I was honing in on the beauty of those islands in the middle of the
lake. Nature at its best ! Cheers Mike

The Gormley concept is sublime... and heaps sublimer than the ecological catastrophe caused by all the gold detectors/miners over the last century and a half...
Cheers.

John I have to agree, many of those abandoned open pits, gold, iron ore and coal, are an ecological disgrace.
But an ethical detector operator, apart from footprints left behind you wont even know he has been there.
Unfortunately, as with so many outback track litterers, that attitude does not extend to everyone.
