In that case.....wombat burrow , but unknown location , maybe along strezlecki Track but don’t know
The wombat burrows north of Nullarbor, towards
Cook are just amazing especially the indented tracks the lead from one Warren to another

Reggie
Away from
home with no access to pictures so no can’t send a picture, but, I probably don’t even have one as, even though they are an amazing sight on the Nullarbor, I was raised on a
farm in hilly Gippsland VIC. and we had 4/5 big burrow complexes on our property, so to me they did not rate as a photo opportunity . We as kids considered them a pest and they also had a bounty of 10 shillings per scalp.... oh how times change!!!

In case anyone is curious, the hole surrounded by the ptilotus is at the centre of the
Wolfe Creek Meteorite crater.

Very interesting Reggy and certainly worth a photo or two. There's a decent wombat village adjacent to "London Bridge" not far from Queanbeyan NSW, but no grand entrances like that.
Not sure if google will turn up anything but I remember reading a long time ago about a bloke who was caught in a blizzard in the Snowy Mts and who survived courtesy of finding a large wombat hole he was able to crawl into - replete with wombat initially iirc. Lucky bloke. Hope he left the wombat a tip.
