I,m trying to find out if the
Gregory Hwy between Charters Towers and The Lynd is dirt or bitumen. Anyone travelled it lately that can answer my question? Tried google but to no avail. Thanks, Dicko.

It's all bitumen, Bigfish. Travelled down there in 2009, towing a car trailer with a new purchase on board, and didn't want to tow down the Hann H'way. A lot of it was single lane bitumen, and numerous narrow bridges, but believe they have widened quite a bit of it.
Just watch out for trucks, near the bridges.

It is sealed. Only a couple of short single seal sections remaining.
I don't know what you asked Google but when I just did it for you it gave me heaps of info on
Gregory Highway/Developmental Rd
BTW we travelled it a couple of weeks ago, no worries.

"BTW we travelled it a couple of weeks ago, no worries."
What does that mean?
Try this link -
FLINDERS SHIRE COUNCIL ROAD REPORT - it indicates "26.79km Gravel" as at 9.00am, Monday 22 June 2020

PeterD I think you have your roads mixed up. Your info is for the Kennedy Developmental Road from
Hughenden to The Lynd. This thread is about the
Gregory Highway from Charters Towers to The Lynd.
My comments still stand.

The research I did (multiple sources) says it's all sealed, but I don't have personal experience to confirm.
