Hi Everyone
We are looking to take our van down to the coorong and wondering if anyone has some good suggestions for sites to
camp at. Van is only 19ft and offroad, however will have another van with us that is not offroad. Would like to do a bit of fishing while we are there. Probably in the next six weeks. Your suggestions would be great. Thanks heaps !

You need to
check and see if the NP sites are open as there are some that are only a short-is walk to
the beach. The other option is to
check Salt Creak,
check with the servo, if they are open, and see if their little caravan park is open. Apart from that there may be a station stay option down there but none I am immediately aware of. The Coorong is a long stretch of sand and water and if you want to get on
the beach you need to be
well skilled in driving in soft sand, read low tyre pressures.

Thanks for the reply Rob, we have been looking at the NP sites. 42 mile
camp, beach driving is fine as we have done it many times before. Looking for a good site for the van.

We've camped at 42 Mile
Camp - a pleasant site. Lots of space. Long drop
toilets. You can drive down to
the beach, although as noted it's soft sand. There's a really good walk from the
campsite to
the beach, as
well as a short walk to
the lagoon.

camp south east of Salt Creek near Chinaman's
Well it's been a while, it had
toilet a short drive to beach but can drive up to Salt Creek on beach about 15 km there's room for large vans and more than two. When we were there people were fishing along beach between SC .

I've driven through a couple of times in the last few months, and it's been closed both times.

There is good camping at Long Point (and at spots either side of there) further north, but of course there is no access to the
ocean beach from there.
Cheers,
