Hi Stephen
I'll have a stab.....
Have been to Skull Tanks a few years back on a trip through the
Gawler Ranges returning from a
Googs Track trip. I think your
pic is possibly
Middle Tank, just north of Skull Tanks on the
Gawler Ranges Rd. I must have driven past it but can't recall seeing them.
Cheers
Paul

Can't say I've seen it but must have driven past it as we have been through that area before.

Paul
You are in the right area, same idea of water collection, but these may help you more.
It looks like if it is not in
Places or on the
EOTopo Map, it is not important for people to stop and investigate.
This is the catchment shed from the road

Hi Stephen,
Looks like Skull Tanks with the road to the right of the photo, but as you have already said that's not it.
These tanks all look very similar, Even Ivy Tanks look like this. I've run out of options although I have been through this area it was many years back. I think it was about 2002.
You've got me on this one.....
Cheers

I could find it if I scoured my maps, but couldn't say I've seen it

Frank,
Your wild guess has paid off,
well done.
Yes it’s name is the Smith Shed Tanks, and like most of the similar shed tanks, have fallen into disrepair, and not sure if they are, but they should be
heritage listed.
One again,
well done

Thanks Stephen.
Been down that road a couple of times a few years ago. Lovely drive, but we didn't stop at all the tanks. Camped at Waltumba
campground on the western side of
Lake Gairdner.
Went past Thurlga Station on our way to
Kimba. Two kids came running out and waved us down, treated us like royalty. Dunno why, Thurlga is a bit remote, but not THAT remote. They wanted all the news - where we'd come from, where're we going to, why, wanna see my pet lizard and emu, how many kids do we have, where do they live? Cute kids, probably don't see many visitors.
Cheers
