The position indicated herein for
Yerdani Well is close to the Great Eastern Hwy & is approx 5kms north of the true location of
the rock. Spent nearly 2 hours last week looking for
Yerdani Well which should be close to
the Rock - but to no avail

Yes this position is the
rest area which shares the same name, ie.
Yerdani Well Rest Area and is not meant to indicate the position of the
well. If anyone knows the exact position of the
well, it can be added as a separate Place.

Seems this is one of CC Hunts Wells.
The rock and
well go by two names - Yerdi and/or Yerdani.
Here is an old map of Yerdi
Rock with the
well marked (plus other minor shafts)
Yerdi Rock (Yerdani Rock)
Using this map and Google Earth it looks like the
well is approximately at :
31 11.1807S
120 37.5934E

There are two
places involved here.
Hunts Yerdanie
well south side of Yerdanie
Rock and Yerdani
Campground.
They are not the same place.
The real C C Hunt Yerdanie
Well has collapsed
well is on the side of Yerdanie
Rock. A close inspection of a thicket of scrub (be snake aware) near the main
rock will reveal rocks from the
well.
