Sparkie
All I can think of is
SHE WILL MEAN BUGGER OFF.
All the other things I came up with were very degrading to women so please help a confused husband who Doesn't want to use the term without knowing how much hot water he will get into.
confused
Sparkie(IE not Y) ;-)

Baz.. Baz.. Baz.....
Did you have one of those CB radios in the late 70's?
You remember all the 10 codes......
10 - 4
10 - 100
etc.........
Times have changed, but we still love our abbreviations!
Did ya know there is one abbreviation that is longer to say than what it means?.....
W W W
Think about it.......
Cheers
Wolfie

Me too, I still have a 5/8 groundplane on the roof and a Kenwood 520s in the cupbourd and a Pearce Simpson Super Panther in the rig, very quiet these days. Did have a QSO with a couple of blokes from the rig a few months back, I turned it on at lunch time and they sounded as if they were in the next street and they were in New Zealand, it lasted about 15 min. and then faded away. They were good days parked on tops of hills in the freezing cold to get better reception. LOL

Any YL's on channel like to go for an eyeball?......how sad is it that I remember this too....why is it back then the voices always sounded so much nicer on the radio than in person. Come on now, share a few of your old call signs.
Mine was Mr Nobody......"Nobody's on channel"....I'm as witty now as I was back then! ...hanging my head in shame

I always like the one I came across many, many, many, years ago (we are talking early 60's). I worked in the State Public Service and they were having one of their regular "Administrative Reorgainsations" ... one of my bosses scored his own office. I had to go see him on a work matter and saw he had a sign on his door which read, DADFA.
When I aksed hi about the DADFA, he told me he was the "Deputy Assistant Director of F**k All".
I like the boy!!!!
Jack
