You may have misunderstood the message. Nowhere did it say you couldn't take your dog to the Pilbara or Kimberley

You are right, the site did not state you could not take them there. What Peter offered was advice. There is a danger your dog may contact the disease. You will also be likely to have to jump through some hoops to retrieve your dog from that area. See the bit that starts
"Following recent detections of the disease in the northern Pilbara and Gascoyne, it is recommended that people moving dogs out of the Pilbara and Gascoyne also follow the below conditions."

I read the whole thing and am fully aware of the hoops you must jump through for one area and should jump through for others.I find it unusual for Peter who is normally quite pedantic in getting things right should head his post with a misleading title. Would have been more accurate to say something like "think twice before taking your dog to bla bla bla"

Maybe the title should have read "If you have any consideration for your dog, DO NOT take it ......... ".
Of course if it is only personal inconvenience that you think about, do what you wish and damn the dog.
Cheers,
Peter

Or the title could have been "Peter the all knowing has banned the taking of dogs to these regions"

Wrong again. Peter is giving a warning to people who value their dogs. It does not matter if Peter has a dog or not. If you don't value your dog, feel free to take it there.

It may not matter if Peter has a dog or not but if he has one ( no matter the colour) and is ill treating it by taking it into these areas it should be of concern to us all.
Dave.

Is this the Department of Arguments?

No, it's not.

Yes it is.

No it's not.

Yes it is, you have a sign on the door.

No we don't.

Yes you do. Look, I came here for an argument.

No you didn't.

Yes I did.

No you didn't.

With apologies to Monty Python and the crew.

For heaven's sakes, you guys, knock off your petty, pointless point scoring, it's not a patch on Python. There are few who won't find your tit for tat boring.

Looks to me like terryt has an axe to grind.

Well the phrase the phrase "Peter the all knowing" sounds more like name calling than debating the issue to hand, & I can see no reason in the context of this thread for such behaviour, leading me to assume there may be some background history I am unaware of.

I guess as members here there is no rule that we must all like each other, but there is one about 'personal attacks', & name calling no matter how mild constitutes a personal attack & is thus unacceptable.

If it was written 'tongue in cheek' & intended as 'banter' then in the context of the way the thread has evolved, perhaps that should be stated & an apology offered?

For goodness sakes. I was told off with a Monty Python argument skit. My reply to you was to try and lighten it a bit. Perhaps you should butt out and let Peter reply on his own account if he so wishes. I maintain his original heading was misleading and his response to my post pointing that out was condescending to say the least. Before the moderaters have a hissy fit I will not be responding again.

Crikey! All the poor guy (Peter) was trying to do, by way of public announcement, was to alert ppl with dogs, that there now exists a deadly disease in those areas, which they otherwise may not have been aware of. Saying: "DO NOT take your dog to the Kimberley or the Pilbara." is his opinion & advice, freely provided as a responsible citizen, which like all us members of the public, he has no authority to enforce. To hijack his post with bullying OT remarks is poor form & the kind of negativety that discourages other responsible ppl, with something to contribute, from using this forum. The end result being that we all lose.
