I am purchasing an Amarok dual cab and will fit an ABS or fibreglass canopy, does anyone have any recommendations or nasty experiences?

I have a SMM steel canopy on my D-Max. It comes with roof rail, hood lining, central locking etc.
Because of it being steel you will not need an internal frame to support the roof bars, fibreglass you will need the frame. Fibreglass with internal frame weighs about the same as the SMM steel canopy.
My SIL had a ARB canopy and he could not stop water coming in whereas
mine is always dry.
Also, being steel it can be panel beated if it gets damaged like
mine on day 2 of owning the car - don't ask.

I had an
Alpha canopy fitted by by
CADDY Storage. I got it fitted rather than the ARB one I had on my last Navara for the following reasons
It was more convenient in the time frame I had.
It was cheaper.
It appeared a better quality.
The vertical clearance through the lift up side windows was better (340mm Vs 290 mm.)
They are available with central locking and come with roof bars (no reinforcing needed.) They are situated at 57 Mordaunt Cct, Canning Vale WA .

I have an Ultimate canopy on my D-max, I'm happy with it. Doesn't come with Central locking , but has gas lift side and rear panels, one key fits all locks, rear stop light and rear demister. Fully lined inside with colour matching paint outside. I think it cost me just over 2K a few years ago.

Before you purchase the canopy, go to the supplier and tell them you have one of their canopies and have broken the back and side window and need new ones. After breaking my window I was told by the
well known company to "go see a glassier" and I wasn't able to get a replacement window. Of course when purchasing the canopy I was told it wasn't a problem getting replacement windows. not true in reality.

Good point. I’ve had 2 ARB rear windows. They do their own.
