Hi every one
The latches on my pop top van [ the ones that holed the roof down ]
are rusted and I don't think I can remove them with out breaking the screws off. is their something I can put on the latches to kill or remove the rust so I can paint them.
Thank guys
Chris

There are rust converters available. Any decent paint supplier will have one. Water based, apply after cleaning and then paint with a good quality steel primer followed by enamel paint.

Well yes Banjo, there are actually several types of rust.
Try Googling "Types of Rust".

Penetrol rust is a great primer and treater. Just follow the instructions. Available everywhere.

If a rust convertor doesn't loosen the hinges then if WD40 is available then it'll loosen them, after which you can switch to the rust convertor.
