Some members will remember my 1HDFTE Conversion of my ex 3Ltr Patrol.
TONI was sold about a year ago to a mechanic in Central coast NSW. He has done a bit of restoration work to it & TONI lives again.
I am pleased the vehicle has gone to someone who appreciates the work we did all those years ago.
I NEVER regretted the work & money we invested in the conversion back then & am thrilled the new owner has restored it to its glory days.
I still today, get questions from all over the world about that conversion. It’s a
well known vehicle it seems. TONI has a new lease on life.

Your thread and write up on the patrol
forum was one of the deciding factors when I decided to put one in my patrol. I also met one of the mechanics that worked on your conversion when I was at Lorella a few years back which was interesting and have chatted to the new owner a few times online as he was getting it back to its prime.
Got over 50,000k on
mine now all over aus since the conversion and can’t beat it as a tourer really

I never regretted the time & money spent on TONI.
I FIRMLY believe the Patrol is the genuinely better built vehicle, combined with the 4.2 Toyota, one of the best Diesel engines ever made= bullet proof total vehicle.

I don’t rate the Nissan 4.2 especially if you’re going for a bit more power. I’ve got 300hp and 840Nm on 285s on
mine and trouble free engine wise for 50,000k, you just won’t get that out the Nissan motor with any kind of consistency
