I just logged in to my Google account and it advised that I should change my password for Exploroz as it had been compromised.
I did that, but has anybody else had that occur?
Paul

Hi Paul
I had an issue 12 months or so ago where my screen name was removed and my personal email address was added, and not by me.
It was only brought to my attention by a fellow member from Queensland.
I contacted Michelle and it looked like my original password had been compromised, so I changed it and no other issues.

Yes, I've had this message from Google about other accounts. I don't know how Google knows, but I do act on the info.

I looked at that site, says it's an Australian Govt site, yet pushes 1 Password at you.
Am I too suspicious?

haveibeenpwned.com isn't a government site - it was started by an Australian security researcher Troy Hunt. The government link is to assure you that it isn't a scam. My guess is that Troy has accepted ads from 1Password because he believes they are useful and they help pay for running the service

Thanks for the info, Peter.
I'd still say it's misleading when the address shows .....gov.au... and the first thing on the page shows the Aussie coat of arms, the words Australian Government and Australian Signals Directorate.
However I'll take your word that it isn't a scam.
Thanks again.

Banjo there are two links - the first one is a private site haveIbeenpwnd, the second is the government site. They are different sites. The coat of arms, etc is only on the government site.

The message from Google is just telling you that they have reports of a password that you use that has been flagged as compromised so it is telling you all sites where you are currently using that password so you can go and change it and then obviously, don't use that password ever again and
check all other areas where you might be using that password.
