What does anyone think about Goldstream RV Off Road Trailer?? OR do you think we should stick to a trusty camper trailer. we plan on doing off road 4 wheel driving quite a bit i.e Cape York, The Birdsville track etc.

No personal experience of the Goldstream..... Cape York is a true test of any trailer I would think, whereas you could usually tow any reasonable trailer down the Birdsville Track.
See the yahoo campertrailer site if you don't get the info you need here.

hiya kriso.
we had a loooong look at the Goldstream,,,,lovely setup, but a new one was out of our price range. the ones we looked at here in Perth would have required a bit of money spent on them to get them ready for any sort of trip.
ie....annexe/awning.......larger gasbottle-only had a 4.5.............battery to be installed...
well the list wasnt long,,,tho it did get expensive.
if money wasn't a problem,,,i would have got one.
as it was we went for a jayco dove that was three years old, with all the bits allready on it, and got it 15k cheaper than a new goldstream.

As far as wind ups go there pretty good but when it comes to the crunch like most campers there only a lite weight 18 x 25 mm pine frame stapled together with some ply stuck with liquid nails one side and aluminium cladding the other stiffened up with some cabinets so you know which one l would pick.

The gold stream have nice layouts, but are fairly expensive, If someone out there wants to lend me a new one for six weeks, i can write a fairly extensive report when i return.. Michael
