trying to get the inner wheel arch guards off the lux to get out some of the nasty grit i can see in there...

they are held in there with a heap of these little plastic clip things... almost like the aunger clips for a rear windscreen blind (but without the phillips head to twist them out)

so before i destroy them in the process of getting them off.... can someone pls tell me how these things work?

cheers,

KG

usually just stick a very small screw driver behind the bit that usually has the phillips head bit and lever out

Hey, If anyone want to know how to get the GU patrol plastic flares off, just let my wife take your vehicle shopping. she drives (squeezes) between two concrete columns and removes them both in one go. Unfortunately they dont go back on so well. oh well, they were scratched anyway LOL.....

It was my old 1999 Gu, we decided to keep it for her and traded her commodore wagon, she only had it a few weeks before she changed the way it should look, anyway doesnt matter. Its better this way, she uses her Patrol for towing her horses and the snow season. I have a new 4,2 now and i dont have to share it with her and have to drive around in her commodore anymore when she decides she needed mine . So we have 2 white Gu's. It looks a bit silly , two patrols parked out the front all the time...

As well as the clips there will be a few rivits.
I put mine back over the weekend after a close encounter.
There were three clips (2 weeks on order) and 4 rivits.
