Hi,
We are about to start our trip to The
Kimberley via Tanami Road to HC then to
Kununurra, Wyndam &
Broome via GRR.
Can anybody advise on alcohol restrictions along this route.
Cheers.

Graham,
there are none. The Tanami passes some communities where you should not take alcohol. There is no problem fuelling at
Yuendumu, provided you don't make it obvious you have a pallet of VB on board.
At
Halls Creek at 10.00 am you will look pretty strange if you DON'T have a slab on your shoulder as you head to the oval for the day.

The restricions only apply inside various communities in WA. The towns in the
Kimberley have a range of semi restrictive practices on liquor trading, some enforced by the Liquor Licesning Commission. Mostly it means you can't buy before 12noon. In HC the local grog
shop in the main drag can sell bonifide tourists grog early am but you have to come in through the grocery
shop entrance and ask.
the
Kimberley is relatively relaxed compared to parts of NT and Qld.

PS. Have a good trip ... remember, don't overload, don't over speed and do carry a second spare wheel.
