Anyone have trouble uploading gpx to account today?

I'm trlying to upload a gpx - I've exported and converted out of 4 different progams and all seem to work OK, but keep getting an error when I try to upload to My Tracks, within browser on both Windows and Android.
Have they implemented being able to import gpx straight from the local file system to the app yet??
Update:
They don't treat gpx waypoints as ..... waypoints(???).
You import them as "places".
