Looking into visiting East Arnhem Land.
Been looking at accommodation options, we'll be in a tent.
Just wondering if anyone else has been there and if they have any suggestions, recommendations etc??

.
Hi Siringo,
There are a number of camping options available in East Arnhem Land.
Within
Nhulunbuy town limits I think the only option is at the
Walkabout Lodge . It's not a bad spot with the usual amenities plus the benefit of
the lodge's bar and dining.
And this site may be useful to you for the wider region.
Google "camping east arnhem land" and a whole lot of info is presented.
It is a great place to visit and reading Stephen L's
blogs are worthwhile. The first is
here. and the second is
here.

Been six years since I lived there but little changes. Most important is to get ALL necessary permits from Land councils and corporations. DO NOT take alcohol into any areas out of
Nhulunbuy and definitely don't
camp somewhere because "my mate says you can go there and stay..it,s alright"! Its a great part of the world and I know all the communities and areas
well. Expect high prices and ensure your vehicle is in a
well prepared state for off road travel.
