Any recent advice on this journey (a) the recommended route ( ?way stops) and (b) likely road conditions assuming fair weather. Intending to travel late July early August. 4WD (Rodeo) towing a light off-road camper. Plenty of time. Thanks, Ross

it's a well maintained gravel road, you'll be fine. reduce your tyre pressure as you would for any gravel roads and there should be no issues

Agree with Dusta.

Do slow down going through the 'dips' as the stones can be razor sharp and can puncture your tyres through the tread.

Thanks Dusta. There appears to be a shortcut (on the map) between Milgun Station and the Mt. Augustus - Woodlands road rather than following on the Meekathara - Ashburton Downs road to Ashburton Dows before turning on to the Woodlands - Mt Augustus road. Any comments ? Ross

Gday Ross
I came back to Landor and turned down the Mount Clere road to Meeka on Wednesday. One patch of very mild corrugations Meeka end but nothing to worry about Mostly a good wide road. Take it easy as there are plenty of cows. Have a good trip. Mick

Thanks landymick. I hadn't looked at that route. Could I ask why take the Landor Mount Clere road rather than The Landor Meeka road.? Ross

Gday Ross. I hadn't been that way before and as it was school holidays, there was less chance of a broken windscreen. Never saw vehicle until around Mt Padbury Station. I went into Mt Augustus on the Dairy Creek to Cobra road for the same reason plus it was more scenic than the Dalgety Downs Road. All the best Mick

Hi Ross.
I am new to the group and am thinking of the same route out of Mecka. It has been a long time since my last trip this way.
I am thinking of going on from Mt Augustus to Tom Price as I have never been out that far. We have an Outback Jayco Discovery outback and traveling at about the same time. may see you on the road.
If there is anyone out there that has traveled from Mt Augustus to Tom Price would love to know what the road is like .

Regards Graham & Sandra Sorensen.

Hi Graham and Sue. My dates of travel are pretty fluid thanks to Covid and all that. You're looking for a Holden Rodeo towing a teardrop camper - both white and dusty. But its a big world out there. I'm heading east home to the Alice after Mt Augustus. Safe travel. Ross.
