the price sounds about right - expensive aren't they? try k&n fabrications - they seem to be able to do things at a good price. rgds

I saw an add in the west australian motoring section on saturday for a place that stated: Custom made accessories for ANY 4wd. Pricked my ears up because that's pretty rare, after owning three non mainstream 4wd's... don't know any other details sorry, probally pretty usless to you!!

I might also suggest keeping an eye on eBay. I just got one for an 80 series in good nick for $350. Fitted it on the weekend and works fine.
Cheers

Hi,
I used to manufacture spare wheel carriers for Off Road Equipment in Myaree, and we made many for the 80s, both left and right swing. As far as I know they are still manufacturing them.
ORE also have an outlet in Osborne Park, through Towbar City.
K&N fabrications also supply a good spare wheel carrier, with 2 carriers, or one carrier plus a gerry can holder, this also replaces the rear bumper.
I hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply. ORE was the one who quoted me $795 which I thought was quite reasonable. They are out of stock at the moment due the the high demant from local purchases and mining companies. As for myself, I know the conditions on mining site especially down the pit, so they must be a good buy. The most expensive was from ARB $1123.

you'll get a dual rear wheel carrier from K&N Fabrications for $1695 or thereabouts. Others are nearer 3 grand which gives you some indication of the price difference.
I have a single from Opposite Lock (cost me about $740 over 4 years ago) but would have gone for the dual had I been more financial at the time. Dual requires
suspension upgrade but I will be getting one on my next trip to
Perth.
