Well, I have improved my Laptop base from what it was.
Member Eric was quite impressed with my mail box pedestal laptop base in between the two bucket seats but it proved to be cumbersome and in the way. I removed it and have built the HF in, in its place.
Now I have made up a 'designer' base from MDF(my favourite building material) which fits on top of the dash shelf. Had to move the UHF and the GPS to different locations and had to lengthen some power and earth cables. The MDF is stylishly cut with an angled curve. Painted black to reflect the somber mood of the utilitarian dash layout, this new fitting works very
well with the laptop able to to be free standing and not being an impediment to the drivers view. Cost..........NIL $0 nothing...built from scrap and a whole morning of stuffing around....but then, I have the time.
See ya in the bush.
