Is there any way I can get Hema Explorer download for my tablet? I have the
ExplorOz Traveller but preferred the original Hema before it somehow got deleted from my phone.

The original HEMA Explorer app no longer exsists. The new version HEMA 4X4 Explorer is available at twice the price of the old version with maps that aren't as good or are out of date.
I do not like the new version that is why I have changed to ExplorOZ.
I think HEMA have become a money making enterprise since it changed hands. I and others have been banned from some of their sites for expressing our
views on the way things where done.

I don't know anything about Memory Map, but for my money if you have EOTraveller plus OziExplorer with a decent collection of maps, you have a formidable navigation suite.
Sorry about "missing something" above, Bigfish. LOL.

No worries Frank. I liked the old Hema as I had it mostly figured out. Found it easiest to use.

Sorry but millions of viruses and trojans are not detected - often due to out of date malware detection software. A new trojan or virus can be published by a hacker into a free download at anytime. Usually the hacker is the one who provides the download site. They will typically look for a program that is popular to infect as many machines are possible. Just because the APK works now, doesn't mean it doesn't have a trojan lying dormant in it. All I can say, is if you take the risk to use software downloaded from dodgy sites like that one, then you are at a very high risk. Make sure your security software has the very latest security patches and keep updating it weekly/monthly whatever they offer. It does not look bondfide to me. There are also tons of free APKs claiming to have
ExplorOz Traveller free - that is impossible - so you can be sure that it contains some sort of virus or trojan. THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH!

I,ve been using computers for 20+ years as a result of being a comms tech with Telstra. Fully aware of the safety issues with Trojans and Malware. I have an excellent up to date security system and have never had an issue with software intrusions. Having done many IT courses helps as
well. Built my own computers and have sorted out many computer issues for our customers experiencing both software and hardware problems. I,ve downloaded many various software programmes, free, from many sites and never had an issue. Fine if you know what you are doing. Sometimes there is such a thing as a free lunch.

I'm happy to hear you're confident about this but I feel concerned about other people not so experienced taking this advice. As you would know, its a very risky thing to be downloading free software from invalidated sources.

HEMA is dead to me.. you may like the App but the POI database on ExplorOz is superb and really makes the 'exploring' style of travel I like to do so much richer. Consider running both apps?

I had Hema Explorer on iPad and iPhones. The iPad version stopped working and Hema faffed around pretending to fix it before giving up. However, it still works perfectly on some iPhones,
well, on an SE and a 6 anyway. I have since bought Exp Traveller but still go back to Hema for some of its features.
